Hi! My name is Emily Thompson and I am a sophomore at the University of San Francisco. I came to this school because of it’s emphasis on social justice and have found a perfect outlet for that passion with The Erasmus Project. This semester we are researching human trafficking in San Francisco which has special significance for me because I grew up in the bay area. Although people all over the world are affected by issues of trafficking I think it is important to know about events that are impacting people’s lives in our hometowns as well. I am researching illegal sweatshops in San Francisco as well as the trafficking of agricultural workers in the bay area. So far I have found a wealth of information and people who are doing valuable investigations into the topics.
