A note from Cecily:
Currently I’m a sophomore at the University of San Francisco. Being an International Studies major I’m greatly interested in the world and the politics that prompt events, issues, and history. However, there is so much to learn about the dynamics of our reality and the realities of others that I often feel ignorant and naïve. This is the main reason why I decided to join Erasmus. I felt that it was a great opportunity for me to broaden my horizons, learn about tangible social justice issues, while having a chance for hands on experiences and initiating change. So far I’ve enjoyed my time in this community a great deal and have created many new friendships that I hope will last a long while.
This new project that Erasmus is working on to expose human trafficking in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area is very exciting. My piece in the puzzle will be challenging, but feasible. I’ll be looking for places with in the city, as well as the surrounding area, for brothels using the façade of a massage parlor, hostess bars, and other sites where the potential of finding slavery exists. I hope to be the beginning of a sustainable and robust organization that will have far reaching affects on the lives of people who do not currently have the power to change their situations by themselves. I also look forward to working closely with my fellow community members and friends and tightening our bonds between each other through cooperation and teamwork.

Hey Cecily!
I’m a student at Santa Clara University doing research on Human trafficking in our area. I was wondering if there was any way you could send me statistics about the human trafficking in the San Fransico area sometime before the end fo the week.
Thanks so much!
